WORKPLACE LAWYER & INVESTIGATOR 

​Mary Kokosis is a seasoned employment lawyer and workplace investigator with more than 20 years of legal and advisory experience.

​

Her practice is devoted exclusively to workplace law and investigations. She is regularly retained to handle complex workplace investigations, including executive-level disputes, involving allegations of harassment, discrimination, misconduct, and reprisal.

​

Mary is an experienced problem solver, known for her practical judgment and clear advice in difficult situations. She works closely with clients to understand the facts, assess risk, and provide straightforward guidance on what to do next.

​

Before founding At Work Law, Mary spent 15 years at Bass Associates, where she advised long-term care homes, hospitals, community health centres, and not-for-profits. She represented clients in grievance arbitrations, before the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, and at the Ontario Labour Relations Board. She provided strategic advice across all aspects of the employment relationship for both unionized and non-unionized workplaces.

Earlier in her career, Mary served as Legal Counsel and Privacy Officer at Coca-Cola Bottling Company and as a Senior Consultant with CIBC. This in-house experience gives her a strong understanding the real-world impact of workplace decisions.

Mary has conducted numerous independent workplace investigations and is trained in trauma-informed approaches. Her background as a lawyer and litigator informs investigations that are thorough, fair, and able to withstand scrutiny.
